I’ve seen your staff members walking around Lillington with the children. The children and staff always look very happy, it’s lovely to see.
We’re absolutely thrilled with this nursery. Huge thanks to Lydia and her entire team. The little one is loving the football and French lessons.
My son has started his second year at Old Library Nursery. He loves going there. The practitioners are caring and kind. I love their modern, positive approach to dealing with emotions and discipline in general, as well as the activities that explore several different aspects of life and nature and celebrate a broad range of special dates for different cultural groups. They also have contact with nature and are encouraged to do so, which is great. I would strongly recommend Old Library Nursery to friends.
Really lovely nursery setting the staff are fantastic and our little girl has the best time.
My son attended The Old Library Day Nursery for 18 months and, throughout that time, every member of staff displayed towards him warmth, patience and a genuine effort to get to know his strengths, weaknesses and interests. He would come out, every evening, chatting happily about the food he’d enjoyed and the activities they had done. The garden facilities, in particular, were a favourite. Overall, with it being a smaller setting than many, I feel this nursery offers a really warm, child driven setting and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a nursery place for their child.
We would like to say thank you to The Old Library Nursery for looking after our little boy who is at school now 🙂 We see how much he loved going to nursery and everyone there. Many thanks again for all your efforts helping us to look after D and support his development, and all your advice for two first time parents! I would whole heartily recommend The Old Library Nursery to anyone looking for a place for their little one. Such lovely, caring and dedicated staff 🙂
We have been part of the Old Library family since June 2020 (officially March 2020 but lockdown happened!). Both of our sons have attended the nursery, our eldest until July 2021 and our youngest is still attending until July this year as he goes to school in September. We absolutely love the nursery and they truly are like family, we will be devastated in July when our youngest leaves.
Our eldest child started the nursery as a very shy child who didn’t enjoy any form of dressing up or even being around other people dressing up. He had been in a nursery previously which turned out to be not a good fit for him. At the Old Library he was able to flourish, his confidence came on in leaps and bounds, he loved going and we never had any tears at the door (I didn’t even get a goodbye when dropping him off!). We were worried about him starting school in September as he had been so settled at nursery but they worked really hard with him to support his transition and by the time he started school in September he was more than ready and absolutely loves going to school. Our previous nursery used the tapestry app to communicate with parents and I was a bit worried about not having this at the Old Library but I think being paper based makes the communication and handovers of a much higher quality than we had previously, the learning journey folder we were given when our son left was wonderful and it was fantastic to be able to look through it and share it with grandparents – the additional touch of a wonderful leavers poem at the end still makes me cry now.
Our youngest child has cerebral palsy and I cannot stress enough how amazing the support him and us have received from the nursery has been. They have done everything they can to support his learning and include him in all aspects of nursery life. Amanda and Lydia in particular have gone above and beyond, supporting him through difficult physio and OT visits to nursery and have spent many hours putting together an EHCP application that described him and his needs perfectly. We finally received the first draft of his EHCP this week (which we were told by IDS he might not qualify for) and it is perfect, this is in no small part due to how well the nursery staff know and support him. He loves the yoga sessions, dancing, talking to ‘Alexa’, and joining in with his friends he has made. The communication we receive from the staff at nursery has been brilliant and we wouldn’t have wanted him to go anywhere else.
I genuinely feel so lucky that we found the Old Library nursery. we don’t live locally and chose the nursery due to it being close to where I was working and it having space at the time but there is no way we would consider moving to a setting closer to home as I really don’t believe we would find anywhere as supportive and caring as the staff are at The Old Library. We will really miss everyone once our youngest has gone to school.
